Rachael Dietkus : Trauma-Informed & Trauma-Responsive Design
S2 E10
**TRIGGER WARNING - This episode addresses the subject of trauma-informed and trauma-responsive design. Therefore, we discuss what trauma is in order to better understand the power of being trauma-informed and taking into account the lived experienced of people who experienced trauma in any design process. If you feel triggered at any point, pause the recording, breathe deeply, be kind to yourself and reach out to a friend, a care provider or call a helpline if need be. Put your needs first.**
🙌 I've been wanting to interview Rachael Dietkus for a looong time, and so: Here she is! 🎉 Rachael is a social worker, a designer and a researcher. She's the founder of Social Workers Who Design.
🤲 Whoever you are and whatever your job is, join us as we learn more about what trauma is, how it affects our life, personal and professional, as users and as a service/care providers. This knowledge might very well change your perspective on your life and your work! And always keep in mind what Rachael sums up so beautifully: "Trauma is anything we experience that is Too Much, Too Fast and/or for Too Long."
